Would you love straighter teeth but hate the thought of wearing braces? For teenagers and adults, the idea of committing to unattractive metal braces for any period of time can be discouraging. But now you can straighten you teeth without any metal hardware in your mouth. Invisalign treatment by Redmond dentist, Dr. Katie Ostler is a virtually invisible straightening system that aligns teeth with no metal involved.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a nearly invisible straightening system that will allow you to smile confidently during and after treatment. Invisalign treatment consists of a series of virtually invisible clear plastic trays know as aligners that are customized for you. You will wear each set of aligners for two weeks then change to the next set of aligners. Each set of aligners is engineered to move your teeth gradually and gently into place based on the exact movements Dr. Ostler prescribes for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You will simply change your aligners every two weeks. Because the aligners are removable, you can continue to eat your favorite foods and you can brush and floss your teeth normally without all of the extra effort involved with brushing and flossing teeth with metal braces and wires.
To begin your Invisalign treatment, you won’t have any messy, gag provoking material in your mouth. Instead, Dr. Ostler and her staff will make a digital scan of your teeth with our Cadent iTero® scanner. The digital scan will be sent electronically to the Invisalign company who will fabricate your aligners to meet your unique needs according to Dr. Ostler’s specifications. At your next appointment, Dr. Ostler will provide you with your first series of aligners. You will see Dr. Ostler every 6-8 weeks for a short appointment to follow your treatment progression. Your teeth may be a bit sore each time you change to a new set of aligners but the process is much more comfortable than metal braces and the best part is that most people won’t even know you are straightening your teeth.
